The new Golf R has a 2.0-liter turbocharged EA888 engine. It generates 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque and will clock 60 mph in 4.6 seconds. You will have two transmission options, including a six-speed manual transmission and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic option. When paired with the 4Motion all-wheel-drive system, the powertrain delivers impressive performance results and makes even short drives around Augusta, ME enjoyable.
The new model also has six driving modes, including Comfort, Race, Sport, Special, and Drift. Selecting Drift mode lets you enjoy the joys of a rear-wheel drive vehicle and is available with the optional performance pack. The Golf R makes driving on curvy roads enjoyable through its torque-vectoring system, which sends power to the outside wheels and increases vehicle stability. In addition, you will have a DCC adaptive suspension which gives drivers 18 selections. Stock Golf R models can travel up to a 155-mph top speed, while models with the performance pack can hit 168 mph.
